I needed to find a way to Asia from Australia and there were was nothing available on QF nor CX so I had to pick One World Partner MH. Given that they had a couple of crashes, most would be reluctant to fly with them.

The flight in Business was full. The seating arrangement for the sides were i a 1-2-1 alternating pattern. I was able to get the throne seat all to myself.  I forgot to take a full size picture of my seat until everyone was already seated.

OJ was served at the gate.

I like the convenience of a little cupboard by your seat.

Malaysian had a preorder option online with a limited selection (given that this was a eight hour red eye flight). Due to cost cutting and a large Muslim population, their selection of alcohol was also limited. I didn't sample too much of their food as i was stuffed from the food from the lounge and that it was a 1AM departure.

MH flights are known for great satay sticks
There was a selection of beef and chicken

My main consisted of the pre-ordered rib-eye
For some reason, there was no desert.
My limited breakfast

Overall, I was very impressed with the crew who worked this flight. The senior flight attendant along with help of a couple of ladies worked the Business cabin. They did the job 3x faster and was more friendly than the crappy crew that worked my SYD-MEL flight. Let's just say I didn't get my food until T-28 on a 90min flight.

Getting a ticket to Australia with miles is hard. Getting a ticket in premium cabin is even harder. I didn't have much interest in visiting Australia but since I found a ticket in First Class on Qantas, I had to get it and that's primarily why I decided to go to Australia.

My flight was delayed by a good 3 hours due to the a possible breach of the exploding Samsung Note phone and some rainy weather.

What's unusual is the remote that controls the seat and all entertainment systems is this piece of heavy metallic de-attachable device.

For my pre-departure beverage, I was offered Deval LeRoy champagne along with what turns out to be the caviar tartlet. It wasn't that tasteful.

Menus were distributed. The food selection is not as bountiful as one might find on an Asian airline. They only carried one (Tattinger) of the three advertised champagnes (very disappointed). The pajamas that were provided came only in a M/L size and it was too big for me.

Here's the real champagne ($200 a bottle)
Since I was stuffed from the yummy food from the lounge, I asked my main entree be held for later and I only sought their signature steak sandwich. It definitely did not disappoint!

I usually am not a big fan tomatoes but I finished it all.

This is the comfy bed that I slept in:

After a nap of a few hours I needed to continue sampling their offerings.
This cannoli with pistachios is highly recommended. The texture is very smooth.

and so was this butterscotch budino. It tasted like a very creamy custard. I almost asked for another.

Also tried some Vittoria Cinque Stelle Coffee and Haagen Dazs

Vittoria Chocochino
T2 Tea with Valrhona chocolates
Fruit with Tattinger

After a movie or two I sought my main entree.
It was the pork belly.

Tasted like Chinese pork belly.

For breakfast, I ordered the scrambled eggs on toasted brioche with applewood bacon, portobello mushrooms and roasted tomatoes. I also finished the tomatoes!

Chilling for the remaining of the flight. Plenty of leg room.
