The last leg of my holidays was the most anticipated one. I was supposed to fly on JAL over spring but decided to fly Cathay. I was very impressed with the level of service and food that was provided. Everything was perfect with one minor exception. I felt that the bed that they provided (a thin mattress pad) was insufficient.

The configuration of the cabin was in a 1-2-1 configuration. 

Plenty of legroom 

Was surprisingly given a free wifi code for use for the duration of the flight

Given that this was new year's day, it went out full. 
I was offered champagne as my PDB. 

I did my homework on the type of beverages that would be served and ordered the $300 Salon champagne.

Once we were airborne, the drinks menu was distributed 

along with the dinner menu.

I opted for the Japanese version and requested for the caviar from the American version. (I did not realize that the Japanese version also came with a small serving of caviar)

Had my bed made. The padding was the only negative of my entire flight experience. it seemed thin and weak.

I was awakend 90 min before landing and here's my breakfast. And yes that Salon!

I now have flown SQ, QF, AA, CX First class, I now rank JL to be #1. I had an amazing caring crew who attended to all requests.

The flight went by super fast, I just wish that the flight had lasted a little longer and that I had more appetite in-flight as I had stuffed myself in the lounge. I will definitely be back on JAL.
