Park Hyatt Paris Vendome

Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge

Additional pictures of this post can be found in the following album

I was able to secure two free nights at the five star Hyatt Vendome in Paris courtesy of Chase. The usual price is $700+ EUR a night.

Relative to the Club Carlson Mayfair and IHG Park Lane properties that I just stayed at, I would rank Park Hyatt Paris Vendome the best hotel I have ever stayed.

I was given a small upgrade due to my matched Platinum status. Unfortunately I did not have Diamond status to experience their breakfast benefit.

Below are some pictures of the common areas.

Hallway to my third floor room

For some reason they had these IWC Schaffhausen watches showcased on each floor and in the lobby

Here is the 5* room that costs 700 EUR. They did include 2 complimentary bottles of Evian water.

It had two sinks and a huge tub and shower.

Let's just say I soaked myself in it more than once.

They also had the Japanese style toilets that shoots warm water

I didn't have too much need for housekeeping or room service but they were quick and helpful when I needed them.

Pictures of their public bathroom. Fully stocked with cloth towels and Blaise Mautin amenities.

I definitely can't afford to stay at a 5* hotel, even if it is on points. I think 3 or 4* is more my style. I will really miss the super comfy mattresses these high end hotel offers. It is really like sleeping in heaven.

I highly recommend getting the Hyatt card for your 2 free nights or the IHG card which gets a free night at ANY IHG property EACH year. Now that is a steal at $49 each year.

Back to the Qantas First Class Lounge at LAX

Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge

Additional pictures of this post can be found in the following album

I began my trip at the Qantas First Class Lounge, it would only natural for me to end it there.

I did not have much time as I spent a good amount attempting to get a sympathetic AA agent to change my flight fron SFO to SJC. That was a total failure.

Per OW rules, because I was just on a long haul F flight, I had access to any OW lounge. I had some problems getting in due to a not so knowledgeable staff.

Everything remained unchanged.

I ordered some more champagne and tea

The same spring menu from two weeks ago

I ordered the sea bass once again. The calamari would take much longer so I had to pass on it.

My desert

The restaurant and lounge was dead as it was only 3.30PM

CX The Wing First Class Lounge

Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge

Additional pictures of this post can be found in the following album

Originally I was supposed to take a half day trip to Tokyo and fly back from HND on Japan Airlines but I decided to change it to Cathay instead. Because I was departing in F on CX I would be able to check out their First Class Lounges.

I had a total of 3.5 hrs to visit both lounges.

Upon clearing security, I went strait to the First Class Wing Lounge. Apparently they had two entrances. I used the one where I had to use an elevator.

Near this entrance was the champagne bar

There were three different types of champagne:
Moet Chandon Rose, Veuve Clicquot, and Deutz.

The area next to it had a rack-ful of newspaper and magazines.

Fresh tea leaves

For lounging

They also feature a restaurant in which a hostess will lead you to your seat and order food. I did not have time for this so i just grabbed something from the buffet area to sample.

My main reason for visiting the Wing was to try the Cabanas

Shiny cabanas hall way

Unbelievable.  The Hyatt Vendome in Paris has a very similar bath tub.

They provided all the amenities including a bath robe!

Off to the Pier....
